Industry 4.0

Basic information:

  • studies in the field of: Informatics and Economic Analysis
  • name of the programme: Industry 4.0
  • studies: full-time second-cycle programme, track: general academic
  • leading discipline: management and quality studies

The curriculum of the Industry 4.0 programme covers topics related to new technologies introduced recently into business practice under the banner of the new economy. These issues, which concern virtually all companies, assume particular significance in the case of small and medium-sized enterprises, which have been the first to introduce technological and organizational changes resulting from progress. Unfortunately, such companies usually do not have sufficient research and development facilities to test and then implement new technologies.

For this reason, the Industry 4.0 programme, whose graduates will be not only familiar with the possibilities of modern technologies but also open to new solutions and ready to improve their knowledge and skills, is particularly interesting for Poland’s labour market. These graduates’ potential employers are not only businesses but also private and governmental institutions which set new development directions and raise awareness of the need for change (e.g., research and development funds).

Students gain interdisciplinary knowledge of the broadly-understood application of modern technologies and business methods in the economy, particularly in the fields of:

  • programming, both basic and advanced, hardware solutions and low-level control systems,
  • data analysis using machine learning and neural networks,
  • ensuring security and privacy protection,
  • natural human-machine interfaces, including the fundamentals of natural-language processing,
  • introducing innovative forms of corporate management and business models related to the implementation of new technologies,
  • modern forms and tools of marketing,
  • multimedia design, with particular emphasis on virtual reality systems.
