Economic Data Analytics

The Economic data analytics programme focuses on the development of analytical competences (in relation to quantitative and qualitative data), on their use to evaluate public policies and business ventures, and on developing the ability to communicate the results of analyses.

 

The educational content of the programme can be assigned to five thematic blocks:

  • research block - quantitative methods (example subjects: applied statistics, data analysis with R, questionnaire surveys),
  • research block - qualitative methods (focus studies and in-depth interviews, case study and document analysis),
  • evaluation block (quantitative evaluation methods),
  • block of public politics / challenges of the 21st century (problems of developing countries, international economic relations),
  • communication block (public speaking, data presentation and visualisation techniques).

 

The competences developed as part of the programme are useful in all professions requiring the skills of analytical thinking and applying research methods: in marketing, consulting, business analysis and economic consulting, economic journalism. For academically inclined students, the programme is a preparation for studies at the Doctoral School.
